Positive Mental Health & Wellbeing Service

Falkirk Council and Barnardo’s Scotland have been working in partnership on the positive mental health & wellbeing service- an interim service to support children and young people aged 5-24 (26 if care experienced) in Falkirk.

Sessions will be provided by 2 highly skilled project workers employed by Barnardo’s. Overall, service delivery is very flexible and sessions can be:

  • On an individual basis, in a group setting, or in a family setting
  • Through digital platforms or face-to-face
  • Out with school hours Monday- Friday, alongside the potential for some weekend flexibility

This service accepts both self-referrals and professional referrals- please click here to access the self-referral form. Completed forms should be emailed directly to

forthvalleyservices@barnardos.org.uk.

Alternatively, you can call Barnardo’s on 01324 632903. All referrals will receive a response within 48 hours.

Summer Programme 2021

Thanks to all the pupils, parents, carers and helpers who made our summer programme such a success this year. As you can see from the photos below, there was lots of fun in the sun (and quite a lot of food in the kitchen too!)

Parents & Carers Group Update

Parents and Carers group

Due to the pandemic, IWBS Family Support Department has had to think outside the box in order to follow Scottish Government guidelines and still be able to offer support to the parents and carers.

From telephone support, walk & talks to garden visits, our group has now progressed to being able to have their first Pop Up Parents and Carers Group.

Staff, parents and carers alike were delighted to be able to meet in a small group in our local park.

The advice and support parents and carers give each other is invaluable and our parents and carers tell us they have missed this throughout the lockdowns.
