Owl

Description about owl.  are birds from the order Strigiformes , which includes over 200 species of mostly solitary and nocturnal birds of prey typified by an upright stance, a large, broad head, binocular vision, binaural hearing, sharp talons, and feathers adapted for silent flight.

Diet.  Their diet includes invertebrates (such as insects, spiders, earthworms, snails and crabs), fish , reptiles, amphibians, birds and small mammals. The main food largely depends on the species of Owl. For example, Scops and Screech Owls feed on insects mostly, while Barn Owls eat mainly mice, shrews and voles.

Young. An owlet is a young  baby owl,typically a recently hatched bird that has not yet developed its full mature plumage and is still dependent on its parents for feeding, care, and security.

habitat. Different species of owl  hunt in different habitats , and have varied dietary requirements. Many will hunt in mature woodland, others lowland farmland and some upland moorland.

Interesting fact about owls. Most owls wake up as dusk falls. They hunt in the fading light, or even complete darkness. owls have round faces and huge eyes, which make them look oddly human. They need good hearing and eyesight to find prey in dim light.
