Fish – Day 2
We have made a rota to check our eggs each day. We are going to check the temperature of the water is just right and that it is not too cold for our fish.
Thursday 2nd February – 11 degrees
We thought this was quite warm as it was really cold outside last night. The eggs are doing fine. We can really see their eyes. They are black.
Fish Info
On Wednesday p5N got our fish. It was very good. First we have to take turns to check to see how cold it is because if it is over 10 degrees it might kill them. It is exciting because when they are older we will take them and put them in the water out in the river. We get to see them change and grow older. If it is not at the right temperature we have to put ice in it. We have to check if they are not dying because the fungus will spread.

Fish Fun!
Our fish were delievered yesterday! I’m looking forward to them hatching into tiny little fish. The fish look so cute and small in the eggs. The tank is going to be full when they are Fry. I wonder how many boys their will be? Callum
Fish Facts!
We need to make sure when looking after our fish that the water needs to be cold.
When they are babies they feed on their tummies.
When they are eggs they have a black spot on it and it is the eye.
When they are older they go to the river and some of them go to sea.

I am looking forward to…
I am looking forward to watching the eggs hatch and get bigger.
I can’t wait until we set them free in the River Carron.
I hope they survive out in the wild.
Overall I am excited to have this big responsibility!

Primary 5N Amazing Egg Arrival! :D
On Wednesday 1st February Primary 5N received their fish eggs! Joanna came and spoke to our class about the eggs and told us about brown trout and their life cycle. She told us how we should look after them and nurture them. There are 250 eggs that went into our tank and they were orange in colour. We could see black spots on the eggs which is the fish eyes! We will need to check our fish on a daily basis and make sure that the temperature is between 5 – 10 degrees.
We can’t wait to see our fish hatch and grow!
