In Science we have been learning about Space. We decided to share our learning with the nursery class. We talked about what we had learned and split into two groups to learn our words. We decided what to show the nursery and took pictures and mobiles with us. They then asked lots of interesting questions.
After we put out some of the bird cake, we started to watch the birds from the window. We used binoculars. Aaron has already seen a wren! We put the bird food out early so that the birds would know to come to our school for food. We are using the Outside Inside Eco Pod, our outdoor classroom.

Some of us went to the staffroom to make bird cake. First we cut up the lard. Then we put the lard into the plastic mixing bowl with the bird seed and raisins. After that we squashed it together with our hands. Then we put the mixture into plastic cups and then into the fridge. Finally, we washed our hands.

We worked in groups to make our own recycled bird feeders. First we rinsed out the bottles in the sink. Next we cut a hole in the front of the bottle. Then we made holes in the bottom of the bottle to let the water drip through. After that we out a hole in the lid of the bottle so we could attach wire to the bottle to hang it up.

On Thursday, Primary 3 got a chance to visit the Nurture room to work with Mr Olyott. We split into two groups and got to spend half an hour in the room. We had great fun and can’t wait until our next visit!
Our visit to the Nurture room was good fun because I got to talk about my feelings.
When we went in we got to sit on the feelings carpet, which had pictures of faces showing happy, sick, sleepy, shy, angry and scared. Mr Olyott talked to us about our feelings while we were sitting in the relaxing area.
We got to eat biscuits and drink juice.
We got to dress up and play with the sand.
I got to wear the big blue glasses.
My favourite part was playing with Lego.

My favourite part was playing dress up with Caitlin.
My favourite part was dressing up and playing Police with Bonnie. I got to arrest her!
My favourite part was playing Lego with Aaron.
My favourite part was when I brought my monkey with me and I found another monkey which was the same.
I liked playing with the castle and the sand.
My favourite part was playing with the Lego with Luke.
My favourite part was playing with the dinosaurs with John.
I enjoyed the having the snake wrapped around me.
