Resource: Pupil Digital Leaders Ideas and Inspiration

Got a pupil digital leader group at your school? Explore our new Ideas and Inspiration resource including digital badges for your school!

What is it?

The Pupil Digital Leaders Ideas and Inspiration document is a resource guide for Pupil Digital Leaders, providing project ideas and inspiration to help them develop digital skills and contribute to their school’s digital culture. By completing various projects, students can earn digital badges that recognise their teamwork, creativity, personal learning, and real-world engagement. The guide outlines the requirements for each badge and encourages students to explore their interests and collaborate with others. The badges are inspired by the Apple Elements of Learning iBook.

Who is it for?

This resource is for Pupil Digital Leaders and the staff who lead these groups in schools. For staff, it offers a structured framework (with plenty of flexibility) to guide and support students in developing digital skills and fostering a collaborative digital culture within the school . For learners, it provides clear project ideas, inspiration, and step-by-step instructions to help them earn badges while enhancing their digital literacy, creativity, and teamwork abilities. It encourages independent exploration and meaningful engagement with digital tools.

You can download a PDF  version of the guide to share with your Pupil Digital Leaders below. If you need this in a different file format please contact Kerry.Abercrombie@education.falkirk.gov.uk to see what we can do!

What do pupils get?

Upon successful completion of a badge the Digital Learning Team will email the group’s adult leader with project feedback along with a digital badge graphic and a digital certificate. We will keep track of which Pupil Digital Leaders from each school have completed which badges for you.

Learners can also use the profile frames below to make a profile picture with their Memoji or photograph. There are a range to choose from – they might select their favourite badge, choose their preferred colour with all the badges or replace the DigiLearnFalk logo with their school or Pupil Digital Leader group logo. These frames are all in the Keynote template which you can download here.
