The theme for Tuesday to support Maths Week Scotland is symmetry.
Symmetry in nature is all around us, as well as in the man made structures, in school grounds or the local environment. ‘Symmetry spotting’ on a local area walk can really help to consolidate learning, bring it alive and make it real.
Its lots of fun to create your own symmetrical shapes and patterns using whatever materials you have available. Working in pairs or small groups encourages peer learning and develops communication skills.
