World Book Day 2026
The pupils and staff of Sgoil Shiaboist and Sgoil Araich Shiaboist were able to come into school dressed as their favourite character from their favourite book on March 5th; here are some of the wonderful costumes!

Intergenerational work with Clann an latha de – “The Children of Yesterday”
At Sgoil Shiaboist we are very fortunate to have a wonderful group of over 60’s who meet regularly and take time out of their days to work alongside our pupils.
Sporting achievements
Our pupils are lucky enough to have the opportunity to have both visitors to the school (pictured below is when we had some tuition for Shinty) & trips outwith the school grounds (below our 2026 Charlie Nicolson football team) to learn and take part in various events throughout the Island. Above is 1 of our P2 children, Josie who took part in the local colour run.

One very lucky boy had the most wonderful Christmas gift after being chosen by Rangers Football Club to be a mascot at their post Christmas match in 2025! Lewis loved every minute!

From September to November we had 4 staff teams walking the length of the Caribbean battling against each other! The Shufflers came out top and each won a gift voucher from the NHS! Our janitor (Murdo) came out on top (1st place) in a challenge of over 300 participants! Go Jani!!

Fundraising
We have a dedicated group of Parents who solely work on Fundraising for School funds, along with the Pupils and staff creating events to raise funds also.
In December 2025 we had a “Breakfast with Santa” morning which was well attended and certainly put everyone in the Christmas spirit!

The pupils and staff put on Coffee afternoon in March 2026 to raise funding for the School trip taking place to the mainland in June, where they raised over £500!
Fundraising Group
As part of the fundraising calendar the Parent Council have a sub committee consisting of parents who concentrate on raising funds for the children to benefit from experiences outwith the school environment.
Fundraising – Community clean up
One of the many fundraising events was the Community Clean-up which took place on a cold and wet Saturday in March!
