Advanced Higher RMPS provides students with the opportunity of a more in-depth study of topics they have covered in Higher. It will also introduce students to a more independent style of study, similar to that of first year university level.

Advanced Higher RMPS is offered mainly as an option for S6 pupils who have studied RMPS at Higher level in S5, although not exclusively.

 As part of the Advanced Higher course students will cover two main topics:

Philosophy of Religion where students will explore three traditional arguments for the existence of God and study many key thinkers in the fields of Theology and Philosophy.

Medical Ethics where students will look into the areas of abortion, euthanasia and organ transplants. As well as studying Philosophical arguments surrounding these issues.

Students will also research, plan and write a dissertation on an issue chosen from within the above topics; this will contribute to 40 percent of their overall grade.
