Higher RMPS

The RMPS department has a long and established history of presenting Higher RMPS and over the last 12 years, it has on average been the largest centre in Scotland for uptake with between 80-100 pupils choosing the course.

Higher RMPS is divided in to 3 units, a world religion, Buddhism, a moral issue, Justice (Crime and Punishment), and a Religious and Philosophical Question (Existence of God). There is currently no assignment for the Higher course.

The exam is divided in to two papers. Paper 1 has 4 questions in total that are answered in essay form. The are two questions on the World Religion: Buddhism, a 10 and a 20 mark question, and two questions on Morality: Justice, a 10 and a 20 mark question.  Paper 2 has only one question which is on the RPQ: Existence of God and it is a 20 mark question.

The Thinker

The RMPS department is supported by having a number of teachers in the department who mark exam scripts for the SQA and have experience and expertise to ensure that learners are fully prepared for their exam and have the best change to fulfil their potential.
