Interim 2 Reports Issued

Saint Ninian’s High School promotes the formation of the whole child; spiritual, moral, emotional, physical, and intellectual. To fully develop these attributes we encourage our young people to participate and engage in the wide range of educational experiences offered both inside and beyond the classroom. In their previous Report, young people in First Year completed an online survey identifying how they are involved in school activities and how they are contributing to the many school and local community co-curricular opportunities available.

For Interim Report 2 we have asked pupils to lead a discussion about their Report with their parent / carer and then to complete their online survey at home, using the link and QR code below. Following completion of the survey your daughter / son will meet with their Pastoral Support Teacher to discuss their current levels of progress and the targets to be set for the next reporting period.

Pupils should speak to their pastoral support teacher if they have any problems accessing the survey.  Pupils should complete the survey by Tuesday 5 February.

S1 Choice Information Evening, Thursday 28 February 2019 at 7pm

At the end of First Year your son/daughter is given the opportunity to exercise a degree of choice in subjects they wish to study in Second Year.

We have arranged an Information Evening for parents of First Year pupils at 7pm on Thursday 28 February, when you will have the opportunity to receive more details.

I must emphasise that you will not be asked to make any decisions at this stage about the subjects your child will study in Second Year. Nevertheless, the meeting will provide valuable information which will be helpful when decisions have to be made in May 2019.

There will be an opportunity to visit departments during the evening where staff and pupils will be available to describe the course content and pupil experience in each department.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will take place in our Oratory after the initial presentation. You are most welcome to visit the Oratory as you walk around the school.

I look forward to welcoming you to our evening.

Yours sincerely

John A Docherty
Head Teacher

St Ninian’s High School Parents/Carers Questionnaire

Education Scotland

Dear Parent/Carer,

HM Inspectors from Education Scotland will be visiting the school to conduct an inspection during the week commencing 21st January. As part of the inspection, Inspectors gather the views of stakeholders via an online survey which is available at the link below.

https://forms.education.gov.scot/s/37ADH/

As parents/carers are such crucial partners to the school, this is a great opportunity for you to give the school credit for all the work we do in developing your children academically, socially and spiritually. I would like to encourage you to take time to complete the survey. Inspectors will also be meeting with groups of parents during the inspection.  If you wish to be part of that discussion, please complete the survey with additional links provided to indicate your interest in taking part.

Please complete the survey by Friday 11th January for one child or if you wish for each of your children in attendance at Saint Ninian’s.

Kind regards

John Docherty
Headteacher
