First Day Success
A massive well done to all new S1 pupils who successfully completed their first day in St Ninian’s High School today. They all looked immucalute in their uniforms and thanks to parents/carers for ensuring this.
Due to new GDPR regulations ParentPay letters could not be given out today but will be given out tomorrow (Thursday). This will allow parents/carers to activate their new accounts to pay for the school cafeteria, lockers and forthcoming school trips.
When lockers have been paid on ParentPay, office staff will give out locker details and padlock which is included in cost (£15).
Also given out tomorrow will be a letter requesting consent for photography and digital imagery. Until this is recieved we will be unable to post photos on the school website and Twitter. Pupils should return this to their Pastoral Support Teacher or Mr Fuchs as soon as possible.

Lockers
To obtain a locker, parents should first activate their new ParentPay account (letters will be given to pupils on the first day). School Locker will be one of the items available for payment – the coist is £15 for the locker and padlock. Once paid the school office will assign a locker and padlock to each pupil who pays for one. In the event there is not enough lockers – it will be first come first served.
Start of Term – Wednesday 15 August 2018
We are very much looking forward to welcoming our new First Year pupils on Wednesday 15 August.
The school day begins at 8.45am and pupils should arrive in good time and sit down in the Forum area where we will celebrate Mass for the Feast of the Assumption.
Following this, pupils will be given their timetable, ICT User Agreement, Scottish Candidate Number and PIN for the school cafeteria, ParentPay Activation Letter (for payment of school meals and school trips) and National Entitlement Card. At this point, pupils will also be able to buy Homework Diaries for £3 so can bring money for this.
Each class will have S6 guides taking them from class to class and they will be given extra time at lunch. This helps in the organisation of the lunch queues and supervision in the cafeteria. It also allows S1 pupils to familiarise themselves with lunchtime procedures.
For lunch pupils can bring a small amount of cash and put this onto their school cafeteria account using the PIN issued to them. However, due to the volume of pupils we strongly advise that they bring a packed lunch on the first day. Parents / carers can then activate their ParentPay accounts so that pupils are not required to bring any money to school for lunch.
All pupils will have Physical Education, and will therefore require kit, for the first time on Friday 17 August.
If your son or daughter takes any type of medication please complete and hand in the attached form with medicine (clearly labelled) to the St Ninian’s High School office prior to him or her starting.

Saint Ninian’s School Prayer
Jesus, as a child you grew in learning and wisdom.
Bless Saint Ninian’s High School, a community of faith and love where young people learn, work and grow together.
Help us to make our school a place where teachers are valued for their dedication; where pupils are encouraged to develop their talents and where all staff, young people pupils and parents – work together in trust and friendship.
Live among us now and forever.
Amen
