NNC Parents News 09.12.2022

Hello everyone

Everyone is getting into the festive spirit here at Netherlee Nursery. We are listening to music, completing crafts and practising for our Festive Celebrations. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Everyone Matters
Would you like to be involved in our ‘Everyone Matters’ partnership group? We would love it if you would join us! Please read more here.

Nursery Christmas Celebrations
We are very excited to invite you to our Nursery Festive Celebrations. The children will be performing some festive songs to get us in the holiday spirit. All celebrations will take place in the Saplings building. Again, we kindly ask that a maximum of two guests per child attend.  Each celebration will last no more than one hour. A wee reminder of the dates and times below:

Saplings
Celebrations will take place over two dates in the Saplings building. Parents and carers will be invited to attend one session, over two dates:

  • Blue, Purple and Yellow Group: Wednesday 14th December 9.30am
  • Pink and Green Group: Thursday 15th December 9.30am.

Acorns

  • All groups (White, Red and Orange): Friday 16th December 9.45 in the Saplings building.

Staff will take children to the Saplings and back to the Acorns after the celebration.

If your child does not normally attend on the days of the celebrations, please just let us know should they still wish to take part- they are of course more than welcome!

Christmas Party Times
As stated in last week’s Friday Bundle, our Nursery Christmas party will take place in both buildings on Wednesday 21st December between 9.15am-11.30am. Children can wear party clothes or just their normal nursery clothes that day. If your child does not normally attend on this day, please just let us know as they are again more than welcome to join the party!

Panto is coming to Netherlee Primary! Oh yes it is!
The PTA have very kindly paid for our school and nursery to watch a streamed version of the pantomime this year. The teachers and children have a choice of three pantos to watch, with this being decided by the children on the day. The show will be streamed on the morning of Thursday 22nd December.  Thanks again fantastic PTA!

Special Books
As you know, each child has a ‘Special Book’ which reflects their progressive learning journey. We’re really looking forward to sending home the Special Books next week on Monday 12th December. The children will be so excited to show you all of the wonderful learning experiences they have undertaken at Netherlee Nursery so far. We hope you thoroughly enjoy looking at the book together. We kindly ask that Special Books are returned to Nursery by Monday 19th December.

Rhythm of the Day
We are very flexible with nursery hours to meet children and family needs. If your child has been allocated 8am-6pm you are of course free to drop off your child any time before 9am and pick up any time before 6pm. Children who attend from 9am -3pm should be dropped off at 9am, or after, and picked up by 3pm please- thank you.

If you are running a little late to pick your child up, it is helpful to let us know. We are available by emailing NurseryMail@Netherlee.e-renfrew.sch.uk or by phoning 0141 570 7260.  These details are in use until 4.15pm each day after this time please call Acorns 0141 570 7272 or Saplings 0141 570 7271. These numbers should only be used after 4.30pm please as we do not have clerical staff to answer the phone during the day before 4.30pm.

Recycled Donations
Thank you so much to everyone who has kindly donated items they would otherwise be throwing out to our nursery. We are looking to set up a Cosy Corner in each of our nursery buildings. This week we would gratefully receive any cosy items to help us with this. Many, many thanks.
