Maths Week

P1 have been having lots of fun this week for Maths Week!

We loved designing our very own maths t-shirts and we had great fun participating in the Treasure Hunt. We tried really hard at all the challenges!

Science: push and pull

Primary 1 have been very busy this week investigating push and pull forces. We made predictions and then tested a range of items to see whether they were push or pull.

We decided that bouncing a ball, pressing a piano key, squeezing a sponge and pushing a train on a track are all push forces, while picking up a bag of shopping and dragging a toy on a string are pull forces!

Next week we will be heading outside to test out more examples of forces, so check back to see what we get up to!

Learning Workshop

P1 had a wonderful time on Friday morning showing off their learning. We have been so busy in P1, developing our fine motor skills, practising our letter formation and sight words, learning our sounds and being creative at the Creative Zone. A huge thank you to all the parents who were able to come along, it was lovely to see you there!

Toys

As part of our new Toys topic, we have been enjoying exploring toys from the past! Several teachers kindly donated old toys from their childhood for us to play with. Mrs Guy’s dolls house has been a real hit! We are going to make peg dolls to go inside it.
