Science

We were amazed by the weather over the last week and so we have explored how we measure the weather and why rain falls.

Some of us worked with Mr Tyler to measure wind and temperature using an anemometer and a thermometer.

Some of us worked with Miss Faulkner investigating why rain falls from clouds.

1) We collected water and walked it safely to the table

2) We squeezed our shaving foam clouds on top

3) We used our fine motor skills to squeeze coloured water using a pipette onto our clouds

4) Observe as the rain fell from our clouds.

We know that clouds are full of water. When they get too heavy and full of water, they drop some water as rain!

A Gruffalo adventure

We are exploring journeys and are thinking about moving from one place to another in different ways.

We went on a Gruffalo hunt through the deep dark woods at the back of the school. We saw lots of different things on our journey like mushrooms, ladybirds and even cars and buses.

  We are Gruffalo

Role play

We are exploring journeys and methods of transport and so we had a discussion as to what we would like our role play area to be.

We had lots of ideas like fairies and magic carpets but the most popular idea was a police car. The children created the police car using a variety of materials they found around the classroom.

We are really enjoying playing in it and using our imagination.
