Just before the Spring break we held a Daffodil Tea to raise money for Marie Curie(a charity that helps people with terminal illnesses).
Before the Daffodil Tea, Primary 4 and 5 did some preparation. Primary 4 made daffodil pinwheels and created acrostic poems. Then after that, Primary 4 and 5 were split in to 2 groups. One group started off by making cupcakes and in the other class we made cards to sell.
The following day we made the icing and a daffodil for each fairy cake as well as making decorations for the tables and the hall.
On the Wednesday of the Daffodil Tea, Primary 4 and 5 performed an assembly and read out daffodil poems. Afterwards, all the children went to greet their parents and bought things from the stalls. At the end of the day, we made bird feeders with our parents. It was rather tricky! The Daffodil Tea was a very fun.
We raised a lot of money, £157.50!Yva who came in to speak to us about the Marie Curie charity will be coming to school to collect our donations.
