Learning at Home

Hi All,

We understand that routine is very important at this time. Each school day we will be providing a Literacy, Numeracy and ‘Other’ activity to be completed.

We have put together some resources that we hope will help with your daily learning. If your child has been absent from school we will make these available for collection. We will let you know where the collection point is in due course.

We would also ask that you continue to undertake these activities each day:

  • Practice lower and uppercase letter formation (using laminated sheet provided as guidance)
  • Practice 0 – 20 number formation (using laminated sheet provided as guidance)
  • Practice writing full name (using laminated sheet provided as guidance)
  • Discuss the date and day of the week. What date/day was it yesterday? What will date/day will it be tomorrow?
  • What is the weather like today?

On our daily task sheet we may provide options in the form of a ‘Chilli Challenge’. The ‘Chillies’ act as a measure of challenge in which there are three levels. Therefore, we do not expect that your child will complete all ‘Chilli Challenge’ activities.

As well as academic learning we appreciate the importance of daily physical activity. Each day we have suggested your child may like to participate in Joe Wicks live PE lessons. These will be streamed live on Joe Wicks’ YouTube account every morning at 9am.

Thank you for your co-operation,

P1 Teachers

SeeSaw

On the P1c SeeSaw page we have posted a test activity to “Draw a picture”.

Can you please sign in to SeeSaw and draw a picture of anything you wish in order for us to ensure everyone has access. If you have any issues please contact the school.

Many thanks,

Miss Cunning and Miss MacInnes

ph Homework Sheet

We realise that yesterday the ‘ph’ digraph sheet was not in the homework folders – please keep an eye out for this coming home today!

Friday trip to Amazonia

Please note that this Friday (13/03/20) P1C pupils should come to school in school uniform as normal as we will be going to Amazonia for our trip!

PE kits will not be sent home tomorrow (Thursday) but will come home before the Easter holidays for a wash.

Many thanks,

Miss Cunning and Miss MacInnes

Fairtrade Fortnight

Dear Parent/Carer,

Our Fairtrade Pupil Group members have been working very hard to promote Fairtrade Fortnight which starts on Monday 24 February and finishes on Sunday 8 March 2020.

As preparation for Fairtrade Fortnight the Primary 4 pupil group members conducted a survey to find out which treats children would like to buy at the tuck shop we are planning to run. A subgroup of Primary 5s created posters to advertise the tuck shop around the school. The older members of the pupil group will be giving a speech and showing a PowerPoint to the rest of the school to raise awareness of Fairtrade. The Primary 7 members created a rota for the tuck shop (see below).

We would like to invite children to bring in cash to buy a Fairtrade treat from the tuck shop. We will be offering Geobake chocolate chip cookies, a variety of Divine chocolate bars and Fairtrade Jellybeans. The tuck shop will be running from Monday 2nd March until Friday 6th March. All items are £1.10 so please send your child with the correct amount if possible.

  • Monday 2nd March – Primary 1 and Primary 2
  • Tuesday 3rd March – Primary 3
  • Wednesday 4th March – Primary 4 and Primary 5
  • Thursday 5th March – Primary 6
  • Friday 6th March – Primary 7

Fair Trade Tuck Shop

Yours sincerely,

Fairtrade Pupil Group

Wet weather

Can we please ask that in the current rainy weather you move towards the gate to collect your child at the end of the day – it can be so tricky to see everyone through all the umbrellas and with hoods up!

Fingers crossed the sun makes an appearance again soon!

Many thanks,

Miss Cunning and Miss MacInnes
