Learning Round Up 17.01.20

Hello!

Here are some of the things we’ve been learning in Primary 1 this week:

We learned the diagraph ‘sh’ this week. We practised our formation of this and had a go at reading some words with the diagraph in it.

In Numeracy this week we have been learning to tell the time. We had a go at reading O’Clock times on an analogue and digital clock.

In our Outdoor Learning we were building Wildlife Homes. We worked as part of a team to gather different objects and to think about how we could build our house for the animals that might be sheltering from the cold and rain this time of year.

We started our Mythical Creatures topic this week and have been discussing Dragons. We talked about what a legend is and had a look at different photos of dragons looking at the different features.

We even made our own fire-breathing dragon face collage!

In Art this week we talked about our Primary Colours. We made a collage of circles using these colours.

This week in Science we started to learn about the Sun and Moon. We know that the sun gives us daylight and when it is night time we see the moon.

Have a lovely and restful weekend 🙂

Homework 13.01.20

Hello 🙂

Please find our Homework Task Sheet underneath the ‘Homework Tasks’ drop down menu at the top of our blog.

This homework task is a 2 week common words project due on the 24th January. Have a look at our Common Words page (under the Homework drop down tab) to see the updated list of common words you may wish to include in your game.

Thanks.

Learning Round up :)

We have been very busy in p1a recently!

Here are some things we have been enjoying in Primary 1:

We decorated and built our very own Christmas tree for our Atrium. Everyone in P1 made their own bauble to stick on the tree.

We have been loving our new areas in the atrium:

Our sand tray now has snow and has turned into a Winter Wonderland scene!

Our role play area has been turned into a Post Office where we have enjoyed writing letters to Santa 🙂

We have been lucky enough to have our own Christmas Workshop in our Atrium where we have been building and designing our own toys.

Here are some of the areas in action! 🙂

We have been very busy in class, continuing to practise our sounds, common words and developing our reading skills.

Here are some clever cookies in our class completing their Literacy task:

Have a lovely weekend!

No homework 3.12.19

We have all been working so hard in Primary 1 to get ready for our Nativity Show ‘Born in a Barn’ and are so excited to perform it this week!

As this week is a show week we will not be sending out any homework.

Please keep an eye out on our blog for when we will next be giving out homework.

Many thanks. 🙂

Homework w/b 25th November

Hello,

We have updated our weekly homework tasks underneath our ‘homework’ tab at the top of our blog page.

Reading books are being sent home today. Please make sure they are returned on Friday.

Thank you 🙂

Donations

Hi everyone,

In Primary 1 we work really hard to plan fun activities in our Atrium. We are hoping to create a ‘Polar Express’ scene as one of our winter themed activities.

Unfortunately, over time our resources break or go missing, therefore we do not have all the resources needed for this activity.

We would be really grateful if we could have a train set and trains donated 🙂

Thank you for your on going support!

Homework *Updated*

Hi all,

Please check our Homework tab to find the updated Homework Task Sheet for this week (18th November)

We have also added a Nativity tab to our blog which has some lyrics for the songs in our nativity Born in a Barn. Please help your child practise these at home! 🙂

Thanks.

Learning Round Up 15.11.19 :)

Another busy week in 1a! 🙂

This week we wrote a story about blowing bubbles. We had so much fun practising with the bubbles in the playground!

This week we started addition! We were challenging ourselves to ‘count how many altogether’. We used dominoes and cubes to help us.

We had lots of fun doing some Outdoor Learning today. We love using the chalk to practise our sounds, common words and numbers.

We have been enjoying practicing our songs for our Nativity this week. Keep practicing these at home.

Enjoy your weekend 🙂
