Class Novel (P2c)

Hi everyone,

Today I’ve sent each child home a copy of ‘The Legend of Spud Murphy’ by Erin Colfer. In the coming weeks, this will be the focus of our reading activities.

I’ll make a digital copy available in Seesaw, in due course, for any families who weren’t in today and won’t be able to collect a copy from the office tomorrow.

Kind regards,

Gordon

Literacy & Activities & Reading Recommendations

Here’s some photos from our literacy activities this week.

This week the children have moved onto a new, more challenging, level of reading books, which you’ll notice in the books sent home next week. 📖

The children are welcome to borrow any of the library books in the classroom if they’d like to read them at home, and I’ve attached below a list of books recommended for P1-3 if you’re looking for any ideas 📚

Story Programming

As part of our Computer Science we’ve been creating and programming our own stories with a partner. We’ve created & customised characters, added backgrounds and programmed our characters to interact with each other!

Literacy Activities & Reading

Here’s an example of what we do for our Literacy on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We start by learning about our new sound with Mr Edge – this week it’s “u_e” as in “cube”. Next we choose what activities we want to do to practise our new sound, and play as well. We also work in our reading group with Mr Edge 😀📚

Phonics Activities

This morning P2c have been consolidating their digraphs learning. They started by ‘Dunking for Digraphs’, then taking part in lots of activities to practice the different words they’ve been learning over the last few weeks!
