Logging into Seesaw

Good evening,

Could I ask that everyone tries to log onto Seesaw as soon as they can. I’ve included a guide on how to do this below:

If you have any issues please contact the office asap, but before Friday at the latest, so we can be sure that everyone definitely has access.

Thank you,

Mr Edge

Pupil Accounts: Access at Home

Hi everyone,

In school we use lots of different websites as part of our learning. As it may be useful to have access to these at home e.g. as part of our weekly homework, today I’ve sent home a laminated ‘Login Card’ for each child (please ignore the card sent home yesterday):

These have QR code links to each these websites which can be accessed by; opening the camera on a smartphone/tablet, hovering over one of the QR codes, then clicking on the link that appears. These websites can also be accessed through a Google search if that’s easier.

If at some point in the next week you could try logging in to each of these with your child, using their email address/username/password to make sure you can access each, that would be fantastic.

(Our ‘Education City’ accounts are still being set up, so won’t work at the moment, but should be up and running in the next few days.)

Thank you,

Mr Edge 😀

Outdoor Learning: Composting & Recycling

This week for our Outdoor Learning we looked at what happens to the things we throw away, and how what we recycle can be reused, rather than ending up in a landfill. We then went outside to our Science Garden to look at how we can compost organic material and reuse it to help our plants/vegetables grow. Did you know that the fruit & vegetables in our allotment are growing in 50% soil, 50% compost?

Help Cards:

To support this week’s homework, three laminated cards will be sent home on Monday:

  • A list of the ‘Common Words’ that we focus on in Primary 2 (high-frequency words) for the children to practise reading/writing as part of their Literacy homework.
  • An A4 version of the support card that each child has on their desk in school containing a number square – this can help with this week’s maths extension e.g. 24+5 – putting their finger on starting number and walking along five to see where they end up.
  • A physical copy of our Spelling Menu.

These are all for you to keep at home, and don’t need to be returned.

New Books:

The children have been given their new books to take home today (Friday), these should be returned, as normal, next Friday.

‘Spelling Menu’ & Mental Maths Booklet:

Digital copies of our ‘Spelling Menu’ and Mental Maths Booklet are as always, available in the ‘Class Information’ drop down menu, under ‘Homework’.

Role Play Shop

Today we had a new addition to our classroom – a role play shop 😀 We’ve even been using it to practise our french! 🇫🇷

P2c Allotment: Planting Potatoes, Beans & Radishes

Today we looked at the seeds we’d bought to see what was ready to sow/plant in February. We then read the advice on the back of the packets before working in groups to plant potatoes, beans & radishes in our allotment 🥔 🌱
