Good morning!

Happy Friday! It’s the end of another busy week of home learning. Miss Ali and I have loved your challenges, riddles and questions this week so thank you so much for sending them in and keeping us entertained, engaged and learning in lock down!

We hope you all have a lovely break with your family – even if it’s a different type of holiday to the ones we are used to! We are missing you all very much but remember if you need anything at all, during the holidays or not, we are only a message away. Please stay home and stay safe. Hopefully it won’t be too long until we can have fun together again at school!

Love Miss Ali and Miss MacArthur x

Hello,

I’m so sorry this doesn’t appear to have published last night. I think there may be some bugs living in my laptop!

Friday 27th March Daily Tasks

Good morning! Today brings the end of the first week of online learning. We are both so impressed with how well you have been engaging with the tasks we have set you all. It has been lovely to see so many of you choosing to challenge yourself and attempt the extra hot tasks!

Please keep working hard over the next few weeks. We are both missing you all so much but we know how lucky we are to be your teachers and see your super work through seesaw.

Daily Plan 23.3.20

Good morning, I hope you all had a restful weekend and are staying safe!

Please find attached our daily plan for today.

For maths, you can choose which chilli challenge you feel best suits you. Green indicates mild, one red is spicy and two red symbolises extra hot. If you are finding it too challenging, you can try a different task or if you found it not challenging enough, try to add some extra spice!

All of your tasks can be annotated or completed via Seesaw which you can then send back to us so we can see how you are getting on at home.  If easier, complete your work on paper/in your multi use jotter, take a picture and send it over! We are both missing you all and can’t wait to see what you get upto!

Important Information

Last week all children were issued with their glow username and password.  Glow can be accessed via the following link. It allows children to make use of many apps including Microsoft Office.  https://glow.rmunify.com/

Today,  all children have been issued with a home learning letter for accessing See Saw. See Saw allows children to access and publish work online. Please try to download the app onto an electronic device or via the website. All instructions are on the page and we have issued an activity for the children to reply to at home.  https://app.seesaw.me

We have also given every child their Education City username. Education City has a variety of Literacy, Numeracy, Science and Computing games. Classwork and Homework can also be issued for each child to access. https://www.educationcity.com

As we have increased the frequency with which we are washing hands, many children have mentioned their hands are sore. If you wish to provide your son/daughter with hand cream/moisturiser to use in class then please feel free.

Homework and Important Information

Thank you so much for your support at our stall during the Christmas Fayre. We have managed to raise an amazing amount so far but we do still have some left over products. If you wish to buy some they are priced as follows:

  • Love heart wool decoration – £2
  • Salt dough decorations – £1
  • Christmas labels – 3 for £1
  • Individual pom poms – £1

Our pom pom wreath raffles were won by Mrs Menzies, Grace in P3c and a pupil in P1b.

On Friday 13th of December we will be participating in the school inter-house technology challenge. We will be working in teams from our houses to try to complete this. We would love if your child could bring in a maximum of 2 pieces of junk. They may also choose to bring in decorative materials but some coloured paper etc will be provided on the day. The design brief the children will be trying to achieve is below.

Christmas Crafts

We had a very enjoyable day today making some more products for the Christmas fayre on Saturday. Tomorrow we will be continuing with this, including lots of painting. If you wish to send your child in with a painting apron/old t-shirt etc to protect clothes this would be very welcome.

Ho ho ho! One month to go.

Homework and Christmas Fayre Information

We have been working hard to create some products for our stall at the Parent Council Christmas Fayre on Saturday 30th November.

We are going to have a few fun filled, festive days next week creating more products. If your child wishes to, could P3c1 children bring in a Christmas hat, hair band etc to wear on Monday 25th  November and P3c2 children bring theirs in on Tuesday 26th November.

We are going to sort a timetable for helpers at the fayre so if your child is able to participate, please send us a little note to let us know.

Our homework for next week is attached below.

P3c.2 Outdoor Learning

Next Friday  8th November, Primary 3c.2 will begin a 4 week rotation for science and outdoor learning with Mrs Duffy.  The children of P3c.2 will spend 3 weeks of outdoor learning activities and 1 session of baking/cooking on a Friday afternoon.

As the weather is now getting colder and may be wet, please ensure that your child brings suitable outdoor clothing and wellies.

Thank you for your continued support.
