Brown Trout Artwork

Hello! Check out P5b’s fantastic artwork that is now displayed around our classroom and school.

We were inspired by the artist Derek De Young who specialises in Fishy artwork!

The children worked in teams of 2-4 to create their own unique version of an adult Brown Trout swimming through the river.  Each group chose what media, paper and colours they wanted. We’re very pleased how they turned out 🙂

2 week Homework Project

Hello,

We have decided as a class to create a piece of art work related to our topic ‘Clyde in the Classroom’.

Please choose over the next 2 weeks to make one of the following or if you have a different idea related to our topic, we would love to see that too!

  • Model of the River Clyde
  • Model of a Glasgow Landmark
  • Model of a Brown Trout
  • Life Cycle of a Brown Trout

Use any media you wish and have fun! (junk modelling, papier-mâché, clay etc)

If you would prefer to do a PowerPoint presentation to showcase something you have learned/ researched for Clyde in the Classroom you may do that instead of a piece of art work.

Due date Friday 28th February 🙂

Thank you, Miss McLeod.

El Dia de los Muertos with P5b

Today P5b were exploring different cultures and we learned about the Day of The Dead festival that is celebrated in Mexico, Spain and parts of the USA.

We then used our new knowledge and creativity to design our own skeleton  masks! check them out!

Abstract Art

We have been learning more of abstract art and we created an abstract  flower painting using colour, shapes and different  patterns first we had to draw 12 squares 3 lines down  and 2 lines to the side.

Next we painted the boxes in different colours by mixing paint.

Then we painted a border round each boxes, thinking about which colours go with each other.

After painted different colours of circles and  added shapes and patterns around the circles to create petals and we added smaller circles inside of the bigger circles to create a variety of flowers.

“We liked mixing the paint to make new shades and colours!” Mia and Ameya.

P4 School Show

Our school show is called ‘All at Sea’. It is about merfolk and pirates. They fight over who is going to rule the sea. We have been rehearsing on stage in the gym hall. Today, we used microphones for the first time.

“I’ve really liked learning the actions for the songs and being a dancer.” Tara.

“My favourite part is singing the songs.” Katy.

“I am impressed with everyone’s acting, especially Blair who plays Captain Scarypants.” Robin.

Onomatopoeia

We have been learning about Onomatopoeia in Art. During this we made onomatopoeic words. First we made the words such as: POW ZAP BANG BOOM. Then we coloured them in and cut them out.

“We enjoyed it a lot.” – Amaia, Ameya, Evah
