The show must go on…

We sincerely hope that we have the opportunity to perform this to our school community.

Blackout Poetry

Today we learned about blackout poetry and how to create poems using a passage from a story. First we were given a passage and scanned for key words which stood out to us. Then we circled other words to make it into a poem. Finally we blacked out the rest of the words using creative images. Take a look at some of our amazing poems below 📝

I’m very impressed, well done P7!

Author Visit📚✏️

Primary 7 were very fortunate to be visited by a local author called SF Mazhar. She is the author of the Power of Four series and The Elementals.

She gave us an insight on how she was inspired through her Fan Fiction writing online.

SeeSaw

Can I please ask that you download the SeeSaw app from the app store on the device that you typically bring to school. This app will allow you to display your learning and recieve feedback from your teachers on assigned tasks and projects. We are hoping to set this up and start using it over the coming weeks.

Thank you in anticipation,

Miss McLean 🙂

Tin Foil Boat Experiment

Today we continued our buoyancy topic with another experiment. Our challenge was to design a tin foil boat which could hold as much mass as possible without sinking. We were given 1 metre of aluminium foil and used our knowledge of buoyancy to create our boats.

Then it was time to put our boats to the test. We put them into a container of water and added as many marbles as possible until they sank to the bottom.

Our winning boat managed to hold 164 marbles! We discovered that the larger the surface area, the more mass the boats could hold. This means that the buoyant force will help it to float. 🛳
