Victorian School trip at Scotland Street Museum

Well! The boys and girls sure got a fright entering an 1864 Glasgow classroom! The children experienced a proper ‘Victorian’ teacher who certainly stood for no nonsense. They had to change to look the part into pinnies for the girls and waistcoats with collars for the boys. They had a turn of attempting some Victorian mental arithmetic on slates and writing with ink followed by drill exercises with the very amusing janitor. Most of them said when they were leaving, “it’s the best trip we’ve had”. Well done everyone and a thank you to our lovely parent helpers.

Mrs Knox 🙂
