Safina Mazhar

A huge thank you to the lovely Safina for visiting our classroom and inspiring us to read and write.

Lots of children were showing an interest in the books, these can be purchased directly from the author at a discounted rate if you wish. She is selling them for £8 each or all three for £20.

Beat the Street

Preparations are underway to dress the Beat Box outside our school in a spring theme.

Euan worked closely with Mrs Hussain to create a centre piece for our Beat the Street display.

The biggest challenge for us, is that the display needs to be waterproof to withstand the weather we have been exposed to recently. So we decided to use recycled plastic bottles to create flowers and insects.

Keep an eye out for the finished product!

Fairtrade

This week we went to an assembly about Fairtrade, the assembly was delivered by P4a. They told us about what fair trade does to help farmers to get better prices so they are fair to their employees . We were very interested to learn all about it.

Mr Blackwood’s Visit

This week on Wednesday Mr Blackwood came to teach the the whole of P7 about WWII. It was really interesting listening to his stories.

Mr Blackwood also had some helmets, stamps and old money from WWII to show us. Mr Blackwood knew so much about world WWII from all over the war, we all learnt so many new things. Thank you!

Enterprise

In school we are doing enterprise for our school fayre and we have a budget of fifty pounds. We had to pitch our idea to the head teacher and hot chocolate cones won.  We have bought things within that amount of money ,we are making hot chocolate cones and to make it you get a piping bag fill it with chocolate powder  and Marshmallows  and decorate it as a Rudolph with a red pom pom and antlers.

“I really enjoyed making hot chocolate cones from my pitch “-Grace
