It’s the General election today and people all over the UK are going to their polling stations to vote. Since P6/7 have been learning about the Scottish Parliamemt we had our own election in school. Over the last few weeks we have worked in groups and created our own political parties. From choosing a name for our party, making a logo, selecting a party leader and writing party manifestos we put together our campaigns and presented our party promises to the class. There was a question and answer session and we debated on some interesting topics. In the end the boys and girls voted using a ballot paper (Mrs Rasul made sure we didn’t vote for our party)
Everyone had put so much effort in and to our surprise there wasn’t one winner. Each party recieved 5 votes each making it equal! Our parties included:
Primary 7 have had an absolute blast. They have made many new friends from Neilston and Crookfur Primary and have really enjoyed all the activities. The weather has been perfect, maybe a little too hot today! But overall a great trip away. Now it’s hometime and we are on our way back. Thank you Lockerbie Manor.
Teachers from Eastwood high school came down to join in with the activities today. Including Mr Williams! Miss Miller and Mr Williams went paddle boarding. That didn’t end well! (Mr Williams pushed Miss Miller off the paddle board)
