Primary 4

Primary 4 have been engaging in various tasks relevant to our topic this week.

“We were finding adjectives within our novel. I found the adjective enormous.” -Theo

“I used a highlighter pen to mark out the adjectives on my worksheet.” -Kay

      

Primary 4 have also written a recipe for chocolate cake this week. Yum!

“We used laptops to make a PowerPoint about the characters from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” -Isla

“I really enjoyed using different colours for my text.” -Connor

Primary 4 had great fun using the iPads this week to try out Sumdog maths activities. We are all very much looking forward to Scottish Maths Week and engaging with Sumdog again.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Primary 4 have been very busy this week. We introduced our new novel study and topic, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

“We were learning how to make chocolate. We also found out where cocoa beans grow.” – Molly

“Ghana, Indonesia and Côte d’Ivoire produce the most cocoa beans in the world.” – Sandi and Elijah

    

“We used globes and atlases to locate Ghana, Indonesia and Côte d’Ivoire.” – Jamie

     

      

“We designed lots of sweeties and lollipops inspired by Willy Wonka’s designs.” – Ailsa

       

“We created different shapes and sizes of sweets. I liked the bubble gum and chocolate designs. They were just like the sweets in Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.” – Rosie

    

“We used card, cellophane wrap and recycled paper to make our sweets.” – Lucas

      

 

Painting with Primary 4

Primary 4 have been learning about a famous artist called Wassily Kandinsky. We have experimented with paint to create our own masterpieces!

“We had a lot of fun painting a picture inspired by Kandinsky’s famous painting of circles.” – Emily

“We created circles and then painted them different colours.” – Theo

“I made a majestic purple colour when I mixed my paints together.” – Scott

“We were mixing primary colours to make secondary colours.” – Ruby

“Our primary colours are red, yellow and blue.” – Kyle

“The secondary colours we made were purple, orange and green.” -Lucas
