Last blog of Primary 2C!!

Well what can I say, I have loved every moment of teaching your young children during Primary 2 this year.

They have all grown and developed their learning, continuing to be curious and creative as well as fun and kind.

This week we completed a Kapla challenge on Monday and explored the woodland on Tuesday. The rest of the week has been so busy with House Reward trips, meeting our teacher and bringing home all our wonderful P2 work.

On Monday we have our class reward party so all the children are invited to bring a game and a teddy. We will be watching a movie and having an ice pole!

Have a lovely weekend!

Sports Week!

P2C have been fabulous during sports week!

Sports Day was awesome! We demonstrated our excellent sportsmanship by cheering on our friends and having great fun at all the stations, even the ones we found hard.

Mrs Norman thinks we were definitely the class with the most spirit and best dancing!

Friday 7th June

Primary 2C have been so busy, we have forgotten to take photographs!!

Some of our favourite things this week have been –

  • I liked discovering things about Switzerland as they are our country for the Euros.
  • I enjoyed doing PE at all the different activity stations.
  • I enjoyed PE as I got to do football and I love football!
  • I liked the PE because we worked with the P5’s, it was fun!
  • We went to the Celebration of Achievement assembly at the high school, in a few years time it will be our turn!!

Please remember next week is sports week, we should wear our PE kits every day so we are ready to take part in a range of activities. On Friday next week you can wear your house colour for Sports Day.

Goodbye Miss Jackson!

As it was Miss Jacksons last day with us today in P2C we had a Pokémon Party!

We had so much fun learning with Miss Jackson, we want to wish her luck in her teaching career.

Here are some of our favourite memories with Miss Jackson:

We liked when she taught us our ‘We Care’ topic.

I liked when Miss Jackson took DLL with us.

Miss Jackson taught us about time, we made our own clocks!

I liked it when we planted seeds with Miss Jackson.

P.E. with Miss Jackson was fun!

She gave the best cuddles.

We made pet animal habitats.

We will miss you Miss Jackson!

Friday 26th April

What a busy week we have had with Miss Jackson and Mrs Norman!

We planted cress seeds and we are responsible for making sure they get lots of water, sun light and space!

In the woodland we went on a hunt to some plants and some good areas to grow our own plants!

We have been reading Jack and the Beanstalk this week and in the woodland we were thinking about activities we could do linked to things like giant footsteps!

We found a worm!

This could be the beanstalk from our story!

We introduced leaflet making in our writing area.

On Thursday Mrs Norman found Jack and the Beanstalk challenge cards in her bag! We had so much fun trying to find solutions.

We made a garden for the man who gave Jack the magic beans. ]

We were measuring the garden in giant foorsteps and regular footsteps.

We made a giants castle. We were working out what would happen if there were more or less magic beans. We made a map of Jack’s home town.

We made a daily agenda for the giant.

In the afternoon we planted runner beans in bags in our classroom so we could watch them grow.

What a busy week we have had!! Have a great weekend!

Crookfur Cultural Week

This week we have been learning about Eid and that led us to asking lots of questions about all the cultures that are represented in our school.

We built mosques and other religious buildings.

We created henna patterns.

We learned some Bollywood dancing and then we were inspired to learn about dances from other cultures and countries.

In our class we have links to Malaysia, Latvia, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, England, South Africa, Pakistan, Northern Ireland, Spain, Greece, Australia, Thailand, China, America, Canada and Scotland!

We enjoyed the Greek dancing the most!

On Thursday afternoon we made chocolate covered dates! Most of us enjoyed eating them.

Some of the class used our fabrics to create prayer mats. We had some excellent helpers teaching us how to do it.

On Friday morning we got the chance to get some henna on!

We have had a great week!

Friday 22nd March

Primary 2 continued to investigate art and a range of artists this week. As you can see we are exploring not only the art styles but the inspiration behind them.   We really enjoyed our visit from Mr Wilson on Friday when he came to teach us about the artist Piet Mondrian. We can’t wait until Monday and we can show Mr Wilson our finished works of art. This week we have enjoyed the first of our ‘Show and Tell’ sessions. All the children who have shared so far have confidently told us all about their special item and why they selected it. It has been lovely to see such a varied range of discussion topics and see the children’s confidence grow, not only as the speaker but by asking inquisitive questions. Well done Primary 2C! Here are a few of our speakers from this week. Have a wonderful weekend!

P2C are artists!!!

This week we discovered that we are all super artists!

We learned about mixing colours, using line, shape and colour in a picture.

We created our own artwork, inspired by Pablo Picasso.

We thought carefully about the detail when we were creating our own.

Friday 8th March

Primary 2C have had a fantastic week celebrating World Book Day and nurturing a love of reading.

After reading ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ our classroom chairs decided they were going to quit until we remembered to always treat them with respect. We had to get creative about where to work in the classroom without seats. Thankfully as a class we wrote some very persuasive letters and the chairs returned to us!

On World Book Day Primary 7 came down to our class to read us the books they had written and illustrated.
