Friday 15th September

This week we went into the woodland to explore for our first woodland session of Primary 2.

We went on a scavenger hunt to find things in nature.

We had a great time and it was fun.

It was fun when we were hunting for things. We had a good time.

We worked together to find everything. Each of us had a job to do so we could find everything in the scavenger hunt.

We enjoyed finding all the things. We all took turns. It was fun.

We tried our best to find everything. We enjoyed it.

It was really fun. We were working together.

We enjoyed our hunt, we thought we found a mushroom in the teepee but it was just a shell. We had a brilliant time. I liked the scavenger hunt.

The only things we couldn’t find were water and a real mushroom!

We found a spider and looked at it closer.

We all had a great time!

Friday 8th September

On Monday Morning we came in and we created boats in the tuff tray.  We needed to think about how it looked, the way it was built and how it would float on water.

On Tuesday we had PE in the MUGA and we played ‘crab, crab, shark’ and the bear and the honey pot so we could get some shade from the sun.

We made some more submarines.

We played a game where you needed to guess the different sea creatures.

On Wednesday we were learning about angles and right angles. We went on a hunt in the classroom to find right angles and we stuck yellow post it notes on it.

On Thursday for PE it was too hot to do PE in the hall so we went outside first thing and we were working on hitting a target by throwing the bean bag in the hoop.

Mrs Norman went to the beach to collect some shells and we cleaned them in the class.

We created a show about sea creatures.

Some special shells were brought in to share and look at, some of them came from Scottish islands and some even came all the way from Cancun!

Enjoy the sunny weather this weekend Primary 2!

Friday 1st September

This week we have been turning our classroom into an Under the Sea aquarium.

We built some aquariums in construction after asking questions about them.

In numeracy we have been looking at numbers and how many of something we have.

We have been revisiting all our sounds and common words to help prepare us for reading more.

  • I liked planning for our aquariums.
  • I liked playing with the sea creatures in the construction.
  • I liked the aquarium I built with A when it was finished.

Next week we would like to learn about the names and types of different sea creatures, mysterious sea creatures and about how sea creatures move about the ocean.
