STEMM 2016

Some more pictures of the great visits we had during STEMM Week.

STEMM

To celebrate STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine) we had a visit from David Wallace and Emma Boyd, who work for Network Rail. They set us a challenge to build a moving model to carry sandbags to a broken rail track. We worked hard in our teams to follow instructions and complete the model.

We enjoyed being civil engineers for the afternoon!

Science Week

All the evidence was collected and analysed. Witness statements were taken and suspects were interviewed. CCTV was reviewed and lots of experiments were conducted on DNA, Chromatography and fibre analysis. It was time to reveal our culprit! PC Cunningham and the STEMM committee reported back.

GUILTY GARCIA!

The case was closed! The culprit was taken away and Busby Primary got back to their daily activities.

(Thanks for being such a great sport Mrs Garcia!)

Science Week

Our role in the investigation was to learn about fingerprints and take the prints of the suspects to match them to the print lifted from the broken ipad.

Science Week

Monday 14th of March 0900.

This morning there was a disturbance at Busby Primary school. PC Cunningham arrived to investigate.

An intruder entered the school building to take an ipad. Mr Maxwell caught them but before he could do anything, the intruder bumped him over the head with an ipad and fled the scene.

Our Growing Class

This week we welcomed Jamie into our class. We had so much fun sharing our learning with you and look forward to all of our new experiences and memories we will make together. Next week we will also be welcoming Stella in to our class. We can’t wait!

Guide Dogs Scotland

This is Summer. She is an 18 month old puppy training to be a guide dog.  Today we learned all about how the people at Guide Dog Scotland help to provide the same mobility and freedom for people who are blind or partially impaired.
