P2 Dates for your diary

P2 will be going on a trip to a working farm as part of their Social Studies work on Tuesday 14th November. Please return your consent form asap in order to ensure all can attend. We need four parents/carers to come with us to the farm; if you are available to help please let the school office know. As this is a working farm, it is likely that it will be muddy underfoot. Please therefore ensure your child wears wellingtons and a waterproof jacket for this trip. I will hopefully post photographs of the day on this blog.

On Wednesday of the same week (the 15th November) we will be cooking with Karen, our new catering manager. We hope to be making and tasting Scottish foods on this day. We would like to invite parents/ carers in to school to work with the children at this event. If you are willing and able to come in to help us we would be grateful for your time. Thanks again S Phee

Art work with Mrs Doran

Primary 2 have been enjoying working with Mrs Doran to create a giant octopus as part of our sea creatures Social Studies work. They have been looking at patterns using paint and have made jellyfish from a range of materials. They have also been learning about the problems with people throwing plastics into our oceans and the effects this has on the ocean creatures. With this in mind, they have made posters to ‘send a message’ to others about the dangers of throwing away plastic on the beach etc. Please check out our wall outside the P2 classroom on parents night for a fabulous display of posters.

Welcome back!

Welcome back to Term 2 in primary 2. I hope you all had a great holiday and are ready for the new term. We have lots of hard work to do but we will have lots of fun as well along the way! Please check out the new lunch menus which will be available to see on the school website.

We have visitors this week, PC Trainer our Campus Cop, who will talk to you about stranger danger and our local Fire Service will be attending our assembly this week to remind you all about the danger of fireworks.

Please note that this is the last week that homework will be pasted into your diary. From next week it will be available on this blog for you to access.

We have been using Loose Parts in our classroom and Outdoors. Have a look at some of the things we have been using them for.
