#BeKind Campaign

The #BeKind campaign are always working hard to find a variety of ways to reach out to our school community especially during these exceptional circumstances. It can be difficult to find the motivation to always #BeKind to yourself as well as others. The #BeKind campaign thought it would be a great idea to try and get as many pupils, staff and parents to follow the Friendly February calendar.

As well as the Friendly February calendar, we have also attached some brilliant ideas on how you can be kind to others and yourself over the holiday weekend. One simple task per day can really make a difference to someone’s week.

#BeKind to Others

• Offer to help or support the elderly or more vulnerable.

• Be patient and understanding to others.

• Check in with local charities and see if you can help them.

• Be open and approachable to others.

#BeKind to Yourself

• Accept your mistakes

• Try to focus on the things that you can control.

• Don’t pressure yourself to get everything done. Be realistic.

• Recognise your positive qualities and think of how they can be used to help others.

• Slow down, take your time and fully engage with activities.

Please find below some information regarding to a local service that has been set up in East Renfrewshire: a non-means tested food bank, operating from Whitecraigs Rugby Club.

Not all families qualify for benefits or support and many people who have suffered hardship during the pandemic have slipped through the net. To date, the service has helped families who are not entitled to free school meals or any kind of government support and they genuinely have nowhere to turn. Families who have children in our local schools are turning to the service for help.

More information about the service can be viewed here.
