Young People’s Sport Panel
Launched in 2013, this will be the second intake of sport panel members and the nomination process is now open!
Young Scots are being urged to apply to become part of the Young people’s sport panel, a national platform which represents a voice for young people throughout the country.
With 16 sport panel members already in place, they will help guide the new members throughout this unique period in Scottish sport, with the Glasgow Commonwealth Games and Ryder Cup at Gleneagles now firmly on the horizon.
Being part of the sport panel provides members with the opportunity to play a key role in the future of Scottish sport.
As a voice for 14-25-year-olds, the panel will also focus on raising the profile of sport within this age group, including through the provision of online content, videos and blogs through Young Scot’s website and social media platforms.
Since the sport panel was formed the members have been involved in a number of high profile events, such as the Scottish Sports Development Conference, and they have also influenced policy by providing input to the Scottish Government’s Youth Sport Strategy and the Commonwealth Youth Sport Charter.
