Welcome back to our young people : Important Advice

Dear Parents/Carers and Students

On Wednesday (12th August) we are looking forward to welcoming back to our school all of our young people and our staff.

We look forward with great expectation to the arrival of our new First Year students who will soon be joining our wonderful school; a new and exciting stage in their educational journey.  May they be richly blessed by the grace of God and may the Holy Family of Nazareth – Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, watch over and protect our young people, families, and staff.

To further reassure all families of our important focus on providing a safe environment for young people and staff I have posted below two important resources published by the Scottish Government. Please take time to consider and discuss the contents of both publications before our return on Wednesday.

Finally, many congratulation to our young people on their notable success following the publication of the SQA Exam 2020 results on Tuesday. Their achievements are remarkable given the challenging circumstances they have faced during this unprecedented time. Whilst they did not sit their final exams, their performance in coursework and associated assessments is to be highly commended. We are very proud of them all, not least for the manner by which they dealt with the sudden shock of lock-down, and the challenges of home and distance learning. It is most unfortunate that our young people were unable to sit their national exams for which they had been studiously and conscientiously working towards as would have been normal. We wish them all the very best for the future – whether they are returning to school, heading to Higher or Further Education, or into employment or training.
