Weekly Prayers

Monday 8 October 2018.

In times of difficulty, we can rely on our faith in God to provide us with the strength to carry on, with patience, perseverance and grace.

Let us pray…

Teach me, my Lord, to be sweet and gentle in all the events of my life, in disappointments, in the thoughtlessness of others, in the insincerity of those I trusted, in the unfaithfulness of those on whom I relied. Let me forget myself so that I may enjoy the happiness of others.

Teach me to be patient, when all day long my heart is troubled by little, but troublesome crosses.

Our Father ….

Tuesday 9 October 2018.

The Month of October is dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary and Tuesday is traditionally the day that Catholics pray the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary.

Let us take a moment to reflect upon the Passion and death of Jesus.

Let us bring to mind anyone we know of who is suffering at the moment, whether that be physically, mentally or emotionally. We pray for God’s healing power for those who need it most and for the strength to endure their suffering.

Our Father…

Wednesday 10 October 2018.

Today is the feast day of Saint Francis Borgia who was born into nobility and was a perfect Christian man, a true man of God and his great joy was to receive Holy Communion often. This happy life ended when his beloved wife died. Francis did something that astonished all the nobles of Spain; he gave up his Dukedom to his son Charles and became a Jesuit priest. It was not too long before the humble priest accomplished wonderful works for God’s glory as he preached everywhere and advised many important people. He spread the Society of Jesus all over Spain and in Portugal. When he was made Superior General of the Jesuits, he sent missionaries all over the world. Under his guidance, the Jesuits grew to be a very great help to the Church in many lands. Through all such success, St. Francis Borgia remained completely humble.

Our Father………

Thursday 11 October 2018.

Today we consider the Mysteries of Light. These were instituted by Saint Pope John Paul II who described them as “a revelation of the Kingdom now present in the very person of Jesus.”   The first is the Baptism in the Jordan where Jesus is identified by the Father as his Son, and follows events during his public ministry from the His first miracle at the Wedding Feast at Cana, the Proclamation of the Kingdom of God, the Transfiguration and ends with the Institution of the Eucharist at the Last Supper.

We remember that it was at Mary’s request that Jesus performed His first miracle and let us listen to Mary’s request for our lives.

Hail Mary………….
