St Ninian’s Win U14 Scottish Shield for Third Time
On Tuesday 6 June St Ninian’s U14 football team won the Scottish Schools’ Football Association U14 Scottish Shield with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Queen Anne High School from Dunfermline.
The conditions were nothing short of horrendous at Spartan’s ground in Edinburgh however this did not dampen the celebrations at the end of the match as St Ninian’s retained the title won by last year’s U14 team. Goals from Ben MacFarlane and James Lockhart sealed the win in a close content.
The success is the third U14 national title in three years and fourth national title in four years. This along with the U15 success at the British and Irish Champions Trophy (Allen McKinstry Cup) plus two U14 Girls 7-a-side national titles demonstrates the outstanding success of our pupils.
