St Ninian’s Public Speaking and Debate Society
On Monday evening, six members of the St Ninian’s Public Speaking and Debate Society attended an Oxford University Debate Society workshop at Mearns Castle High School. Students were given advice on how to structure parliamentary style debate speeches, along with tips on how to ensure both style and delivery are effective. A practice debate on the banning of private schools was then followed by a more formal debate on entertainment awards. The students found the event to be a valuable learning experience and hope to put their newly honed skills to the test in future debates.
