S1 Football Coaching Session
Thank you to former pupil – Michael McLaughlin – for putting our S1 pupils through their paces on our 4G pitch this afternoon.
Michael is presently engaged as a coach with Glasgow Celtic Football Club and is working with Celtic U-19s and U-12s girls’ teams, as well as assisting with a number of school projects across the West of Scotland. He worked closely as an assistant coach to Mr Kerr last year with our successful U-14 team, who lifted the Scottish Cup.
Michael was keen to give something back to his school and volunteered to provide this coaching masterclass to our pupils. He will lead a similar session for our S2 students next week. In addition he is hosting an open coaching session for all-comers, here in the school, on the afternoon of our annual Sports Day on Wednesday 6 June.
We are grateful to Michael for offering such a wonderful opportunity to our young people. Thanks also to the first years who represented our school so well today – Michael was delighted by their engagement and participation.
Michael was an outstanding student in St Ninian’s and we look forward to hearing about his successes as he embarks on an undergraduate degree in Aeronautical engineering next session.
