Freescale STEM Challenge
Some of our S6 pupils attended a STEM event at Freescale Semiconductor in East Kilbride on Monday 5 October. The challenge was to build and customise an autonomous car which would then ‘race’ cars from other schools. The cars were judged on design, build quality, speed and tracking accuracy. The pupils also had to complete and present research on the likely security issues associated with real life autonomous vehicles and had the opportunity to listen to guest speaker, ethical hacker, Ken Munroe.
