FAO Current S3 Girls Engineering the – Future for Girls – Virtual Programme
Engineering the Future for Girls – Virtual Programme
University of Strathclyde
7 – 9 June 2021
Following the success of our virtual Engineering the Future for Girls programme in June 2020, the University of Strathclyde are delighted to be offering the virtual programme again in 2021 for school pupils in S3.
The University, BP and BAM Nuttall recognize the challenges school pupils have faced this year and it’s important to us that the current S3 cohort are given the same opportunity to engage with us as those who have attended the programme in previous years. We have therefore developed an online offering which is designed to inspire female pupils to discover the excitement and personal satisfaction that comes from a career in engineering. We ask that you bring this to the attention of S3 girls, particularly those that have a talent for mathematics or physical sciences.
Virtual sessions will run over three mornings on Monday 7th,, Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th June 2021 from 10.00am – 12.30pm each day. Participants will hear from staff and students at the University and colleagues from BP and BAM who will provide an insight into studying and working in the field of engineering. Participants will also take part in a group project throughout the week. There are 100 places available on the programme and participants must be able to commit to attending all sessions as listed above
Further information and the online application form are available on the Engineering the Future for Girls website: https://www.strath.ac.uk/engineering/outreach/engineeringthefutureforgirls/
