Creative Industries Pupils Help Transform Community Space
Eleven of our Creative Industries pupils have unveiled their own mosaic at Barrhead Water Works, a former derelict sewage works transformed into a community space.
The Creative Industries class have been involved in the joint art project with the support of East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure and the council.
The mosaic is now on display at the site, which has been completely transformed into a community-friendly space.
Arts Development Officer Tess Forbes, from East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, said: “We were delighted when St Ninian’s approached us to work on a creative project. The pupils went through the process of creating a concept for the regeneration of the Waterworks site and what they felt the community would benefit from. We then invited them to create a permanent feature.”
