Chinese Delegate Visit
On 28 April, Mr Ruoxing ZHENG, Headteacher of Tianjin No. 45 School, Mr Qingdong ZHENG, Director of the Hedong District Education Bureau and Ms Hong Zhang, Section Chief of the Tianjin Hedong Education Bureau were warmly welcomed to the East Renfrewshire Confucius Classroom here in Saint Ninian’s High School.
After meeting in Mr Docherty’s office and having pictures taken, the visitors were given a tour of the departments within our school. They were then taken to the confucius classroom where they watched some of our S2 and S3 pupils give performances including Chinese singing and dancing. The Delegates then gave a presentation about their school in Tianjin.
The visit was a huge success! Feedback from our Headteacher Mr Docherty:
“Thanks to Ellena Zhou for her outstanding work with the Chinese delegation. The quality of pupil participation was superb, displaying talents in speaking Mandarin and superb enthusiasm for the subject. The music and dance was wonderful and the tongue twisters were amazing. Thank you to staff for taking time to welcome the guests to our school”.
