Celtic Connections
Three St Ninian’s pupils are set to perform at this year’s Celtic Connections winter music festival. The world renowned Glasgow festival features artists from around the globe alongside the best of Scottish talent. Fiddlers Nuala McBride (6a2), Niamh Doohan (5a1) and Andrew Ward (3a3) will join Scottish fiddle quartet RANT on 21st January at 1pm in The New Auditorium at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. RANT is delighted to be launching their new project, 4/4 – A Project for Projection, which sees the band passing their acclaimed skills and repertoire directly down the generations. They will be performing with 12 teenage Central belt fiddlers a freshly-arrayed selection from both their albums. This is an excellent opportunity for our pupils to have the experience of performing at this prestigious festival alongside professional musicians.
