ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE
Today is Ash Wednesday and marks the beginning of Lent which is is a 40 day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving . It’s a period of preparation to celebrate the Lord’s Resurrection at Easter. During Lent, we seek the Lord in prayer by reading Sacred Scripture; we serve by giving alms; and we practice self-control through fasting.
If not for the global pandemic, we would have been in school today and each year group would have had the opportunity to come together for a service to receive their ashes.
