Remembrance 2014

This coming week we will mark the 100th anniversary of the start of the Great War. We have set aside time for reflection in all classes and at the Assemblies organised for the coming week.

The Sunday nearest to Armistice Day is the national day of remembrance in the UK.

Armistice Day is the 11th November (the day on which the armistice was signed to end the First World War – at 11.00am on the 11th day of the eleventh month).

Two of our senior pupils and Mr. Macdonald will represent the school at the East Renfrewshire Remembrance Sunday parade and service, (9th November).

Our school community will pay their respects to those who have died with a two minutes’ silence at 11 o’clock on Armistice Day (Tuesday 11th November), using a PowerPoint reflection specially prepared for our Remembrance Day 2014.

Eternal Rest

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,

and let perpetual light shine upon them.

May they rest in peace. Amen.
