Polar Bear – Library/English Trip
The Edinburgh International Book Festival came to Eastwood Theatre today. Pupils attended a performance of Polar Bear by performance poet Steve Camden. He gave a blistering rendition of some of his “spoken word” rhymes along with a mini master class on how to create characters. He then explained how to become a writer, where to get inspiration and read from his book Tape.
Lots of pupils stayed behind at the end of his show to get copies of his books personalised and to chat to him. Our pupils behaved wonderfully and were positively enthused by the event. Many thanks to Mrs Bastable and Mrs Kelly who accompanied the Librarian and the pupils on the trip.
