Wednesday Reflection
Midweek Reflection
10th November 2021
In this week in which we celebrate the Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica it is good to realise that the Church of St John Lateran is honoured as, the Mother and Head of all the churches in the City of Rome and of the World.
It is celebrated as a feast all over the world as a sign of unity and love towards the See of Peter which presides over the whole assembly of charity. We can claim a slight extra connection with St John’s Basilica. Two priests from the Diocese of Paisley live in the residence there. Monsignor Boyle who comes from Clarkston and Monsignor Bell who comes from the town of Paisley and who has previously visited our school.
Every time we visit the school Oratory for Mass or private prayer, we show our care and love of God, whose house it is. It is for us a house of prayer. God is Really Present in the Tabernacle. What a joy and privilege it is for us to have Jesus so close to us…..and for us to be so close to Him! How we comfort Jesus during Mass and by our presence at other times and by our loving prayers!
