Weekly Prayers
Monday 14 May 2018.
Today is the Feast of Saint Matthias who according to the Acts of the Apostles, was the apostle chosen by the remaining eleven apostles to replace Judas Iscariot, His calling as an apostle is unique in that his appointment was not made personally by Jesus but through the power of the prayers of the apostles seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit,
Gracious God,
We are reminded today of the renewing, transforming power of your Holy Spirit,
Through which you have inspired ordinary people like us across the years to live and work for you in joyful faith and fearless service.
Help us to know today, through that same Spirit, that you are able to take any person, any place, any moment, any situation, and achieve within each one things far more wonderful than we can ever begin to imagine.

On Sunday we marked World Communication Day. Communication is so important for us to develop a relationship with anyone we must talk with them but are we losing the skill of conversation. Sometimes we don’t really listen to what people are saying. We wait for them to stop talking so that we can speak.
Father of light,
from whom every good gift comes,
send your Spirit into our lives
with the power of a mighty wind,
and by the flame of your wisdom
open the horizons of our minds.
Loosen our tongues
to sing your praise
in words beyond the power
of speech,
for without your Spirit
men and women could never raise
their voice in words of peace
or announce the truth
that is Jesus the Lord.

Today we continue to pray for those pupils currently sitting their SQA exams. This is a challenging time for them and it is important that they remain in our prayers. Let us pray that they may be blessed with calmness and serenity when it is required and that their hard work, commitment and dedication is rewarded.
Hail Mary….
Thursday 17 May 2018.
The Church dedicates the Month of May to Our Lady and encourages devotion to her. Mary’s story begins with The Annunciation when the Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and asked her to be the Mother of God’s only son Jesus. In total faith, Mary welcomed God’s call and said ‘Yes’.
We pray for young people. That through the intercession of Mary they will hear God speaking to them and they will follow Christ and serve their brothers and sisters throughout the World.
Hail Mary…
Friday 18 May 2018.
Today is the Birthday of Saint Pope John Paul the Second who was born this day in 1920/. He reigned as Pope for over 26 years, the second longest reign in the history of the Church. Pope John Paul II was the first non-Italian Pope since the 1500s.
However his early life was one filled with activity and involvement with groups. He played football, participated in drama, canoed and spent time in the outdoors. In other words he lived life to the full and one of the best ways we can show our love for Christ is to make the most of every day and every opportunity awarded to us.
We pray that we will use the many, many opportunities which our school offers us, to be the best person we can be and to live as full a life as possible.
Hail Mary…..
