Miss Neil takes on international role with Sterling
Fairey Band solo horn Rachel Neil becomes the latest Sterling Musical Instruments artist and clinician
Sterling Musical Instruments has announced that the talented Scottish horn player Rachel Neil has joined their team as their new Tenor Horn Artist & Clinician.
The company MD Paul Riggett told 4BR: “Rachel is an outstanding exponent of the instrument and we look forward to seeing our relationship flourish. She will be a huge asset to our growing international line-up of renowned endorsees.”
Champion
Rachel currently plays solo horn with the Fairey Band and for the last two years has been the Scottish Open Solo Champion.
She was principal horn of the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland for four years and also performed with the European Youth Brass Band.
She previously played with the Whitburn and Kirkintilloch Bands in Scotland, and studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, graduating with a first class honours degree in music education.

Looking forward
Rachel, who will continue her Masters in Performing at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester in September, told 4BR: “I’m thoroughly looking forward to the future performing as a soloist and clinician demonstrating the Sterling Virtuoso tenor horn.”
Rachel will make her artist debut in a concert alongside Sterling’s Glyn Williams and Sarah Lenton with Waterbeach Band on the 23rd of June.
