Congratulations to Ciara Heather (1a5) who has won Review of the Week for her review of Paddington.

Paddington

This will forever be one of my all-time favourite movies, one of the best family movies will surely bring a tear to your eye one minute and have you collapsed on the floor laughing the next! The story of Paddington, the marmalade loving bear is a great one, a funny little bear cub looking for a home and a London family with a little boy, a moody teenage big sister, they’re grandmother, Mrs Bird who seems to feel everything in her knees, a business man father who is forever wry of the dangers of the world and a kind, charitable mother who doesn’t know why her daughter, Judy, doesn’t want to go to the sewers with her boyfriend and highly embarrassing mother. Based on the children’s story books by Michael Bond, this family friendly movie will warm your heart and make you laugh out loud. When they spot Paddington at a train station, they invite him home for the night having no idea how they’re lives will be changed. Millicent an evil taxidermist from the national history museum, spots this adorable little bear and realises that he is an incredibly rare species so plots to stuff him with the accidental help from the unsuspecting Mr Curry, played by Peter Capaldi. Though I won’t tell you the ending, you’ll just have to watch it yourself! But I promise that it will be worth it as this is one of the best children’s comedy movie ever (in my opinion), a hilarious story that will never stop you laughing no matter how much you watch it (from experience), Paddington will stay with you forever!
