SQA Results Day 10th August 2021

Dear Parent / Carer,

The SQA Results will be issued tomorrow Tuesday the 10th August. This year compared to previous years is slightly different, as our young people have already had a provisional copy of their SQA results. To help with a number of concerns the school has set up an online form where information will be collected and addressed. The from will provide you and your child the following options.

  • If there are any concerns regarding the results issued by the SQA you can list the subject and concerns. It is important to provide as much detail as possible.
  • If there is any subject you wish to appeal can you provide a note of the subject, the level and the subject teacher. This is only for information for the school, as pupils have to apply individually to the SQA for an appeal. More information on this process is listed below.
  • If you wish to change a subject, please identify the subject you are currently studying and want you wish to change to. We hope to meet your requests but there can be limitations due to the column structure of the timetable. If there is an issue and it can’t be accommodated the Pastoral Staff will contact the school.

Please note your request like the example below:

“I am currently studying Higher Geography and want to Change to Higher French.”

This form will open at 9am tomorrow and can be accessed through the link below:

The New Appeals Process

In a previous parental letter, the process for the Alternative Certification Model was explained as well as the thorough and robust stages, which the school has carried out. This has included the marking and quality assurance process as well as the moderation and verification sampling with schools within the authority. The provisional results awarded to the candidates were based on demonstrated attainment undertaken in line with the Scottish Qualification Authority guidance.

This year the SQA has a new appeals process where candidates can request an appeal by themselves. It is important that when making the request for an appeal, a candidates award can go up as well as down. Information about the process as well as applying for an appeal can be accessed through the link below.
